The Subconscious Mind

8th February 2008

Positive and negative emotions cannot occupy the mind at the same time. ONE OR THE OTHER MUST DOMINATE.

Think of your subconscious mind as a filing cabinet. Every single thing that you do and that your 5 sense preceptors interpret are sent to your subconscious mind to be filed away and stored.

You can also voluntarily plant in your subconscious mind any thought that you wish, this means that you can control what you will ultimately unconsciously be giving your attention to and thus what you will be attracting from an unconscious level.

Remember, your subconscious mind is in constant contact with infinite intelligence (or source energy/god /life force etc.) so by planting positive thoughts you will ultimately attract positive people, places and circumstances.

Your subconscious mind is acting upon the thoughts that have the most emotion mixed with them. This is ultimately the key to getting your thoughts planted as you must ensure any thought you wish to plant must be mixed with a strong emotion such as desire or faith.

As soon as you fully understand the subconscious minds true potential power and realize that it is the connected link between you and infinite intelligence then you will begin to fully realize why Napoleon asks us to write down our desires on paper, back in Chapter1: Desire.

All of the thirteen principles outlined in Think & Grow Rich are the stimuli to deliberately influence your subconscious mind. Your subconscious mind IS the link between the tangible and non-tangible.

One Response to “The Subconscious Mind”

    Here’s my take::

    The unconscious mind (or the One Mind) is the seat of the Spirit. It is not ‘in contact’ with infinite intelligence- it IS infinite intelligence. The body is the link between the tangible (conscious mind) and the intangible (unconscious mind). It acts as a receptor for wisdom from the Source. Consequently, the body is also the ‘root’ of emotion. You cannot plant thought in the unconscious mind- thought is linear, it is controlling! You can only open yourself to the unconscious by stemming the ego, or the CONSCIOUS mind, thereby transforming thought and action. Everything we learn through conscious thought is already alive and well in the unconscious– infinite intelligence is omniscient– but the conscious mind is so immersed in the physical, it needs physical demonstration in order to ‘get the net’. It needs it to understand, because that’s how the ego works– it is linear, not cyclical.

    As for negative emotion, it certainly serves a purpose. It would not exist if it was not meant to be utilized. Balance is key- without negative emotion, we could not gauge the depth of positive emotion nor could we spur catharsis. The ebb and flow of the Universe is paramount- where things begin as ‘negative’ they eventually segue to ‘positive’, and vice versa. Let us use ‘the wrath of God’ as an example. This term is meant to symbolize positive wrath- that is, using anger to spur a positive result. Imagine that a child is hit by a drunk driver and the mother experiences wrath as an emotional consequence. Yet, instead of using it to ‘punish’ the driver, she builds from wrath to create awareness by establishing a foundation or center that helps those who suffer from alcoholism, thereby lessening the incidence of vehicular accidents involving drunk drivers. Here, a so-called ‘negative’ emotion is used to create a positive consequence. The wrath of God is simply using anger to ‘clean house’– to burn away negative thought and build from the pure unconscious, or Spirit.

    The point is- there is NO negative and positive emotion. There is only thought…that is, the judgment YOU make in labeling something as one or the other. The unconscious mind is without thought because thought is a purely conscious attribute. It is how we make the decision to move. I like to imagine the process as follows: unconscious mind, intuitive body, conscious thought. This is the ‘flow’. If you allow conscious thought to overrule the unconscious- if you use emotion to do the ego’s bidding- then you do not listen to the unconscious mind, or the Spirit. However, if you open yourself and allow the unconscious to become evident through emotion, you build productive thought as a result. Things do not begin with the ego- they end with it. It is your choice whether you will allow it to rule or to manage.
