The Little Tree of Life
19th March 2008
Today I received my first ever Bonsai tree which I’m so excited about. It’s a Serissa Bonsai which is also called “tree of a thousand stars” because of the way it buds.
The reason I purchased it was because I wanted a little more nature in my life.
As an online business owner, I tend to spend a lot of time by the computer. I do take regular walks and make sure I get my dose of nature, but the more I understand the teachings of Eckhart Tolle, the more time I want to spend appreciating nature and being still with it.
Noticing the stillness within a plant, flower or tree can really help you to become present in the moment. I’ve noticed that a lot when I walk through a forest.
So getting a bonsai tree is my way of being closer to nature whilst I’m still working on my business. Here’s a pic…

What a beautiful tree! I do the online business thing as well and don’t get too much time to interact with the beauty of nature. Maybe a Bonsai would be a good option? I wonder how it holds up to a black thumb?? LOL
Hi Vickie,
Thank you, I’m glad you like it too. It’s really very calming to have and I highly recommend getting one.
LOL, if you do a little research you can find ones that will survive even with over/under watering and lack of feeding etc. I made sure this one was easy to cater for.

PS. I love the tree pic on your blog!
The day before the tree arrived, I was emailed by the person I bought it from who said he had sent it off.
Because it being a tree and all, I didn’t want it to be boxed for very long and so I put out my intention for it to arrive the next day.
Usually our parcels are delivered by a van instead of the mail man. And in every occasion I can remember, the van is always here before the mail man (van about 9-10am, mailman about 11am).
On this occasion, the mailman came about 11:30am but still no sign of the tree or any parcels!
I have to admit… I was getting disappointed.
I decided to take an early lunch that day and started cooking something up at about 12am. As I was doing so, I noticed my vibration slipping because the tree didn’t arrive. So, instead of being miserable, I decided to make an affirmation.
“The bonsai tree will arrive today” (I was actually singing it instead of saying it lol)
So as I was cooking up some lunch, singing my affirmation, I get a knock at the door that made me jump out of my skin.
Could it be? Was it?
YES! The little tree of life had arrived!
Was it my affirmations? I’m not sure. Perhaps the tree would still have arrived even if I was still feeling sorrow for not receiving it. Either way, it made ME feel better saying that affirmation and that is the most important part.
Aloha
