Everything You Want Is Two Topics
8th August 2008
Whatever you give your attention to will create.
You’ve heard this before, right?
So…
If you give your attention to good health, you’ll attract good health.
If you give your attention to cancer, you’ll attract cancer.
If you give your attention to money, you’ll attract money.
If you give your attention to debt, you’ll attract debt.
But why don’t you receive money when you give your attention to debt? After all, when you give your attention to debt, you’re also giving your attention to money. So why doesn’t money show up?
Everything that you want has two aspects of it that you can focus on. If we take money for example…
- There is the lack of money.
- And there is the having of money.
It’s the same with anything that you want. There is either having it, or not having it. The Law of Attraction yields to you the things that you want when you focus on the having of it, and not on the lack of it.
If you focus on the lack of money, you’re going to see more debt.
Even debt has two aspects to it. There is the having of debt, and there is the lack of it. Giving your attention to the lack of debt is a good thing if you no longer want debt.
So how would you give your attention to the lack of debt? Think about having money!
For some people saying the words “I am debt free” will make them feel uncomfortable. It will remind them of debt and cause negative emotion inside of them.
One of my first deliberate money manifestations occurred because I kept my attention on becoming debt free. I would imagine what it was like to be debt free and to have no money worries. That made me feel absolutely great and so I manifested what I wanted.
Some people would advise against using the word “debt” because they would say you’re giving your attention to debt. My personal experience has been different. When I feel great about being debt free, I attract it! The words have little power for me. It’s the way I feel about it that makes all the difference.
Everyone is different though and you should always follow what your feelings are telling you. If using the phrase “I am debt free” makes you uncomfortable, then it definitely is not the right phrase for you. Something like “I have an abundance of money” may be more appropriate.

Dear Gary,
I second your remark of everyone being different and needing different things. And although the basic truths are undiscussable, the efficient methods are very personal.
In the last few years, I’ve really come to appreciate the flow of money. It sounds strange, but I LOVE paying my mortgage payment.
Sure it’d be nice not to have one… but in the meantime, making that payment is a direct expression of gratitude for having the bank support me in living in my own home.
The same goes for most of my expenses, as well as paying down debt. They’re all reflective of other people helping to support me, and paying them back is my way of showing gratitude for their support.
I also love income
But I actually like spending and sharing money far more than making it.
Example: When I get a raise, it doesn’t make me feel significantly better on its own. I know that more money won’t make me “happier” (just more comfortable and more able to expand the flow of money)
But when I then use that raise to tithe a little extra than normal, or donate to a new charity, then that sense of gratitude comes into play…. because the flow is expanding.
