Does Achieving Desires Bring Fulfillment?

21st May 2008

In my last post, My Subconscious Addiction, I told you about how Positivity Space had been engraved into my subconscious mind whilst I was building the site. I feel certain that this played a big part in the success of the site.

After having launched the membership site though, I noticed an immediate deflation in my energy levels.

I had achieved the goal I set out to achieve, and I was happy about it for sure, but something was missing. I wasn’t fulfilled by it.

This is quite natural and something you will probably have experienced too at some point in your life. It’s the same feeling when you come into money… it’s great for the first part, but the excitement quickly dwindles away because you either want more or you realize that money isn’t the thing you really wanted after all.

We continuously have new desires and that is something that cannot be stopped. When you achieve a certain goal or desire, it can very quickly become apparent that you want more straight away. That is because you’ve moved into a new standing point where you have access to new desires.

Here’s how I see it:

  • You achieve the desire…
  • Move into a new standing point…
  • Create a new desire from this new standing point…
  • Work towards achieving the desire…

(Then it starts all over again)

And that is completely natural and is okay to keep wanting more. You’ll never ever achieve all of your desires and as Abraham-Hicks says… “you’ll never get it all done”.

It was this experience of achieving something I thought I wanted so badly, and only to find that it didn’t fulfill me that led me to discover the Stillness Within.

Immediately after launching Positivity Space, my vibration dipped because I realized that I was missing something and I allowed that feeling of missing something to affect my vibration. It wasn’t long before I discovered a teaching that requires no goal achievement to find fulfillment.

I call it Stillness Within. You can learn about the Stillness Within and my own thoughts about it by signing up to my free newsletter… http://www.stillnessswithin.com

Since discovering that I can be fulfilled without physical manifestations, my physical manifestations are even better than before. I take more joy from them because I no longer cling to them as a way to make me complete or whole.

Having the knowledge to bring manifestations into the physical world is a beautiful thing, and something I am eternally grateful for. Manifestations aren’t the be all and end all, but its nice to enjoy some of the things we have on the planet.

Mixing that knowledge with what I know about being fulfilled in every moment greatly enriches my life. I believe that its the perfect spiritual combination.

What I know for sure is that everything I wanted to get from physical manifestations always never comes, but always does come from within myself.

It was there all along, I just didn’t notice it!

Stillness Within

4th February 2008

Some of you may not be aware that I’ve setup a new newsletter called Stillness Within so I thought I’d take this opportunity to let you know why I’ve gone with this name and what it’s all about.

First of all the domain name stillnesswithin.com was attracted to me. I won’t go through the in’s and out’s of it, but I came across this domain name by accident and tried to register it. Unfortunately it was already taken… through a bizarre course of events the domain name ended up in my possession and it really was a case of the universe gifting me this website. I actually ended up being notified of ownership on Christmas morning!

I felt attracted to this domain because of a different teaching I had recently experienced. It is this teaching that requires no visualizations, no meditations, no vision boards, no affirmations and no magical manifestation processes.

I call the teaching ‘stillness within’.

It’s not a teaching that focuses on getting lots of stuff and manifestations. The main focus is on becoming at peace with this moment, now. I first heard about this teaching through Eckhart Tolle’s book “The Power of Now”.

What I find incredible is that when you begin to remove your attention away from manifestations then manifestations tend to come anyway. It’s like life is working with you as apposed to against you. You’re not forcing anything to happen, but instead it simply happens.

I setup this new newsletter to help share this with you and to help you experience stillness within too. It’s something that anyone can do, regardless of your age, religion or sex. It’s something that you can access at any time you like and it’s something that will give you never ending fulfillment.

Please don’t confuse this with a state of mind or a special spiritual practice that only gurus can do. That’s not the case at all. It’s with you right now, but you choose not to see it.

I call my email list a newsletter, but it isn’t something that I will be emailing to you every week or every month, instead I email my subscribers when I have something of value to share or of value to add to your life. I’m also a keen advocate of helping you to get what you truly want out of life, so don’t be surprised if you get a few helpful Law of Attraction tips too.

If you’d be interested in joining my newsletter, you can do so for free by visiting www.stillnesswithin.com
