3 Ways To Detach From An Outcome

19th June 2008

Beautiful Sunset

Removing your attachment to your desires is crucial to you achieving them. I’m not perfect and have had quite a bit of difficulty in letting go of some of my money related desires.

For example… As an online business owner, I’ve found that I can get way to attached to the amount of online sales I make every day. If sales are low, then I find myself feeling miserable and down about it. And equally, when sales are up, I feel happier about things. This is a perfect example of being too attached to the outcome of a desire.

Having that strong attachment is actually hindering my desire to create more sales, since I’m unable to release the need. Needing only creates more needing. Releasing it and letting it go leaves your vibration pure and positive, allowing your desires to flow freely to you.

The more I practice releasing, the more I’m getting better with detaching from my the outcome of my desires. Here are three ways that I’ve found to be helpful in letting go…

Change Your Focus – This sounds really simple, but it really works very well! When you take your attention away from your desires and put your attention on to something that pleases you, your vibration is going to immediately rise upwards. The best method I’ve found of changing your focus is to play a game where you find a thought that feels better.

Starting from whatever you may be feeling, make it your intention to find thoughts that make you feel better. It can be about your desire, or it can be about anything else. As long as you reach for thoughts that make you feel better, that’s the trick to this game.

In my DVD, Remaining Positive When Bad Stuff Happens, I talk you through this process of finding a thought that feels better by giving you a case study example.

Feel Good – If you’ve been reading my blog for any amount of time, then you should by now realize that I emphasize a lot on feeling good. Why? Because feeling good is glorious! When you feel good, good things are attracted to you. It is that simple.

When you feel good, the attachment to the desire softens up and allows you to move your attention elsewhere. That’s exactly what you want if you find yourself clinging onto your desire with both hands.

Lighten up a little and feel good for the purpose of feeling good. Go and meditate or take a walk in the woods. Read a good book if that makes you feel good. Do anything you can to feel good.

Feeling good is what my Manifest a Miracle system is all about. If you’re looking for a solution that can consistently help you to feel good and manifest your hearts desires, then you may like to have a look at what Manifest a Miracle can offer you. I’ve included 11 feel good processes so no matter where you are or what you’re doing, there will be a process that you can do to make you feel good, now.

Become Present – Becoming present should actually be described as a feel good processes, yet I’ve made it separate because it is quite different to the feel good processes that I talk about. Becoming present isn’t something I can describe in words, you have to experience it to know it.

When you become present and take your attention away from your thoughts, your vibration instantly increases and of course, your attention is no longer on your desires. Anyone can become present in any moment they choose. Most of us are so identified with thoughts that we never realize the power that the present moment can hold.

If you want to learn more about becoming present, you can signup for my newsletter Stillness Within.

So there you have it! Three ways that you can use right now to remove your attention from your desires, so that your vibration increases and allows the desire to materialize into your physical life.

Does Achieving Desires Bring Fulfillment?

21st May 2008

In my last post, My Subconscious Addiction, I told you about how Positivity Space had been engraved into my subconscious mind whilst I was building the site. I feel certain that this played a big part in the success of the site.

After having launched the membership site though, I noticed an immediate deflation in my energy levels.

I had achieved the goal I set out to achieve, and I was happy about it for sure, but something was missing. I wasn’t fulfilled by it.

This is quite natural and something you will probably have experienced too at some point in your life. It’s the same feeling when you come into money… it’s great for the first part, but the excitement quickly dwindles away because you either want more or you realize that money isn’t the thing you really wanted after all.

We continuously have new desires and that is something that cannot be stopped. When you achieve a certain goal or desire, it can very quickly become apparent that you want more straight away. That is because you’ve moved into a new standing point where you have access to new desires.

Here’s how I see it:

  • You achieve the desire…
  • Move into a new standing point…
  • Create a new desire from this new standing point…
  • Work towards achieving the desire…

(Then it starts all over again)

And that is completely natural and is okay to keep wanting more. You’ll never ever achieve all of your desires and as Abraham-Hicks says… “you’ll never get it all done”.

It was this experience of achieving something I thought I wanted so badly, and only to find that it didn’t fulfill me that led me to discover the Stillness Within.

Immediately after launching Positivity Space, my vibration dipped because I realized that I was missing something and I allowed that feeling of missing something to affect my vibration. It wasn’t long before I discovered a teaching that requires no goal achievement to find fulfillment.

I call it Stillness Within. You can learn about the Stillness Within and my own thoughts about it by signing up to my free newsletter… http://www.stillnessswithin.com

Since discovering that I can be fulfilled without physical manifestations, my physical manifestations are even better than before. I take more joy from them because I no longer cling to them as a way to make me complete or whole.

Having the knowledge to bring manifestations into the physical world is a beautiful thing, and something I am eternally grateful for. Manifestations aren’t the be all and end all, but its nice to enjoy some of the things we have on the planet.

Mixing that knowledge with what I know about being fulfilled in every moment greatly enriches my life. I believe that its the perfect spiritual combination.

What I know for sure is that everything I wanted to get from physical manifestations always never comes, but always does come from within myself.

It was there all along, I just didn’t notice it!

Eckhart Tolle in Living Luminaries

24th April 2008

The first time I watched the movie, Living Luminaries, was the first time that I truly took notice of Eckhart Tolle. The 4 minute video below was the start of my awakening. It was my first sample from the nectar of conscious presence.

Light at the End of the Tunnel

21st April 2008

Over the last three days I’ve been stuck in a very negative vibration. It’s not normally like me to allow myself to feel down in the dumps, but for reasons that I haven’t worked out, I wanted to remain miserable over the weekend.

I haven’t even worked out the cause for this unexpected misery, but what I did notice extremely clearly is that negative thoughts were so accessible to me that I wanted to remain there.

I wanted to take the easy route…

I wanted to stay unhappy because that was easier than trying to get myself out of this negative mood.

Ironically, I just launched my first ever DVD, Remaining Positive When Bad Stuff Happens, and I didn’t follow my own advice!

Even though I was fully aware that I was putting out a negative vibration and I had all of the tools and knowledge available to me, I continued to feed the negativity and wanted to stay miserable.

I found myself eating more and more junk food.
I found myself wanting to do nothing but watch TV.
I found myself not wanting to speak to anyone.
I found myself saying over and over again… “who cares!”.

Thankfully, I have some extremely good friends who were able to help me through this weekend lapse and knew just what to say to help me through it.

What I found extremely interesting is how my business completely froze in synchronization with this negative vibration. Personal emails stopped coming in, sales were non-existent and everything that I wanted to happen simply did not occur.

This isn’t something that I experience very often and so it was all very noticeable to me.

After listening to some excellent advice given to me by my friend Dean, I began to wake up out of this nightmare weekend and started practicing raising my vibration. There’s dozens and dozens of ways to do this, but my favourite way is to take my attention away from thoughts and become present in the now.

So, I listened to the latest part of the Eckhart and Oprah web event that’s been running for the last seven weeks. After the one and a half hour session I was feeling so much better. I was much calmer and had found peace within myself.

After sleeping for 8 hours I awoke feeling like myself again.

When you’ve practiced a good vibration for such a long time, any negative vibrations that try and creep in are quite noticeable. In future I will be making an extra special effort to ensure that I do not sink that low again and try to catch the vibration slip at the earliest possible moment.

I do not want to go through the last three days ever again, but what this weekend has done for me is given me greater clarity on what I most certainly DO want from life, and I can assure you… feeling miserable isn’t it.

Can Bad Be Good?

22nd March 2008

Can you experience something that is good without first knowing what is bad?

Clarity is what a bad perceived situation gives you. Without having the knowledge that something is unwanted you could never know what you did want.

Think about this for a moment… if everything in the world was the color blue, would you know what others colors are? Would the word ‘blue’ exist?

When you observe something unwanted it is giving you the clarity to know what you do want. Bad can be considered good but only to the ego.

Your inner-being doesn’t recognize good and bad, it only recognizes “what is” and it perceives a problem as a situation. Nothing more and nothing less. When something good happens, its just a situation. When something bad happens, its just a situation.

Dealing with a situation instead of a crisis is far easier and much more sane.

Getting to a point where you perceive everything as “what is” isn’t difficult, but it will require repetitive effort. By giving your attention to this moment, now, you will be moving towards a different way of perceiving life events.

The ego loves to feed on your trauma and pain, therefore when you’re not grounded in this moment, right now, the ego has power to emerge whenever it wants and will feed by reacting to situations.

Don’t give away your power. Retain it for yourself. Become grounded by giving your undivided attention to whatever life will bring you. You’ll soon see that instead of pushing against life, it will begin to work with you. Allow whatever life experiences to come and embrace them, no matter what they may be.

The Little Tree of Life

19th March 2008

Today I received my first ever Bonsai tree which I’m so excited about. It’s a Serissa Bonsai which is also called “tree of a thousand stars” because of the way it buds.

The reason I purchased it was because I wanted a little more nature in my life.

As an online business owner, I tend to spend a lot of time by the computer. I do take regular walks and make sure I get my dose of nature, but the more I understand the teachings of Eckhart Tolle, the more time I want to spend appreciating nature and being still with it.

Noticing the stillness within a plant, flower or tree can really help you to become present in the moment. I’ve noticed that a lot when I walk through a forest.

So getting a bonsai tree is my way of being closer to nature whilst I’m still working on my business. Here’s a pic…
