Power of the Master Mind
Published in Chapter9: Power of the Master Mind
Great power can be accumulated through no other principle than that of the master mind!

The master mind principle is something that Napoleon Hill is most famous for. Why? Because of the power and results people get when they form master mind groups of their own.

First let’s define what a master mind group is. Napoleon defines it as:

Coordination of knowledge and effort, in a spirit of harmony between two or more people for the attainment of a definite purpose

When two or more people get together when working towards achieving the same goal, not only is the effort doubled, but so is the energy. When two or more minds are focused on the same goal a third invisible mind is formed out of energy which all parties of the master mind contribute to forming without their mental knowledge.

As we know, it is the vibration you emit that will ultimately attract what it is you want. So when two or more vibrations are forming this invisible mind, the speed of manifestation is quickened and the Law of Attraction will act with more potent force.

Finding the right people to form a master mind group with is where your work should start. However this is easier than you think. In the next post I make on this chapter, I will disclose to you how you can begin to form your own master mind immediately by leveraging off of the power of the Internet.

For now though, you must begin to tune your own vibration into attracting the right people into your master mind group. Finding like-minded individuals is a good place to begin, however if you’re too similar to someone else then the master mind will not go very far.

It’s often best to form a master mind group that has a variety of different abilities. If for example you’re forming a group for the purpose of creating money in real estate. It would be pointless having a group of real estate brokers all living in the same area, each running a similar business at the same level of business. It wouldn’t be long before all creativity within the group dries up.

By associating with a diverse group of people you will have a much better chance of forming new and innovative ideas. As well as that benefit, you will be able to access contacts that you would not normally have had access to.

Begin to make a detailed list of everyone whom you’d like in your master mind group. Be as specific as you can about what the person does and what they can bring to the group. For example, if you’re an Internet Marketer, maybe you’d like someone in your group who owns a business in the same niche as you and has established themselves as a leader in this field. Maybe you would like someone with good copywriting skills who has a proven track record. Be specific and make a list.

By making a list, you’re already sending out clear messages to the universe. The next phase is to become aligned with your requests. We’ll work on that in future posts.

Just remember, no one will ever do anything unless there is a worthwhile reason for them doing it. If you’re not able to offer anything in return for their participation then you shouldn’t expect anyone to join your master mind group. If you haven’t already worked out a list of your own skills – now would be a good time. What could you offer someone who may be in a better situation to your own? Do you have technical abilities that they do not? Have you got experience in other areas or contacts in other places that could be of use to the other participants in your master mind group?

How To Form A MasterMind Group
Published in Chapter9: Power of the Master Mind

Forming a master mind group isn’t as difficult as you may think. In fact it should be as easy as aligning your energy with the type of people you want.

The Law of Attraction doesn’t care whether you want something or not, so if you’ve been focusing your attention on the type of people you want in you master mind group, then you’re already becoming magnetically attracted to those people.

It’s simple and beautiful at the same time!

By leveraging off of the power of the Internet you can now form an online master mind group with participants from anywhere in the world. Are you beginning to see the possibilities?

Here are some great social networking sites that can help get you started:

Ecademy is a social network for business people that now have over 150,000 member profiles worldwide. It enables business people to connect both online on the web site and offline at networking events and at 1-2-1 meetings. Ecademy can help you get more business, more relationships & more knowledge. If you’d like a free 1 month trial as a Power Networker, please send me a message and I will send you a free 1 month invitation.

Ryze is similar to Ecademy, however Ryze is a free platform that helps you expand your business network. They help you:

  • Get a FREE networking-oriented homepage
  • Make quality business contacts
  • Re-connect with friends
  • Help your company make deals through Ryze members

Personal Development Partners is a new social forum that is based on people improving their lives. This wonderful community provides an excellent platform for you to interact with like-minded individuals who are also in pursuit of personal and professional goals. Unlike Ecademy and Ryze, this forum is based upon personal development and so you’ll have a much better chance of finding like-minded individuals who already practice personal development.

Personal Development Partners gets my own personal recommendation because of the wonderful atmosphere and unending potential the site has to offer. I’ve been a member since it started and have already met some wonderful new friends and potential business partners for the future.

Once you’ve found your potential partners, you must now convey your ideas to them. Here are my three tips on doing this in a constructive and helpful way:

Make friends – Look at this as an opportunity to make new friends and not just business acquaintances. Think about it this way… who are you most likely to support and help out? A friend? Or someone who wants something from you?

By making friends instead of business deals, you’re more likely to strike hot arrangements with that person in the future. Business friends are what will ultimately catapult you to where you want to be. You won’t be able to get there alone, so make good friends and start making them now.

How can you help them? - Don’t look at this as “what’s in it for me?” but rather approach this as “how can I help you?”. Have you ever received an email or a letter that just tries to sell you something that you have no interest in? How did you feel? It’s not a pleasant experience to be sold to, so don’t adopt this style when you contact your potential master mind alliance.

When you make first contact with someone, it’s best to find out a little about them first. Work out some ways in how you could help them and suggest them to that person in a friendly way. Also, it doesn’t hurt to pay them a compliment about something you’ve seen them do that you thought was great.

Get your energy right – Do you have any idea how devastating your written word can be? If you’re contacting someone when you’re in a bad mood, your vibration is carried in the words you type. Remember… Everything is energy!

My personal advice is that if you’re ever feeling down or not in the right mood, then stop doing whatever that needs doing and work on your energy. Forget about the mountains of stuff you had planned to do and get your energy up! If you’re struggling with this, then take a nap or go to sleep, you’ll feel better when you wake up.

The effects of the written word can be clearly seen in the work of Masaru Emoto, a Japanese researcher and author.

Dr. Emoto experimented with the effect of words, ideas and music on water molecules. He and his team stuck written words typed by a word processor onto bottles of distilled water crystals – they left the bottles overnight and the results are simply astounding. The following images should give you a good indication of the implication of your written words.

If you are in a negative mood and you begin writing to people you want in your master mind alliance, what impact do you think it will have on the response?Remember to have fun whilst you make your list of qualities you’d like in your master mind alliance! There’s no limits where the universe is concerned, so be as wild and adventurous as you desire…

MasterMind Principles and Guidelines
Published in Chapter9: Power of the Master Mind

To conclude this chapter on the master mind, I’d like to give you an example of how you can keep your master mind meetings organized and successful. At the bottom of this blog post you will be able to download a PDF sheet that includes 10 master mind principles.

Once you’ve organized your group meeting and have all of your attendees it is best to be very specific with the amount of time the meeting will take. Although the meeting shouldn’t be hurried, you should stick to a designated amount of time for the meeting. This will help to keep everyone focused.

You can begin your master mind meeting by reading a set of principles. Either you can use the principles in the PDF document, or you can create a set of principles that are specific to your group that everyone contributed towards. This would be more powerful as the principles have been created by you and your group.

To start the call, share your “win for the week”. Share a very brief story about something that went well for you. It doesn’t have to be anything spectacular but it’s a great way to begin the call and to get everyone into a good vibration. Keep this short and sweet because focusing on the past isn’t productive time.

Next you should begin to get to the meat and potatoes of the meeting, the “wants and needs”. This is the time when everyone will get a chance to state what they would like support with or what they need in order to progress with their goals.

If you’re lucky enough to be part of a master mind group where all participants of the alliance are working towards the same goal then this is the time when you could be brainstorming together about how you can overcome obstacles or planning how you should attack a chosen goal, or even reporting in on the group’s progress.

Remember, the idea of the group is to support one another. Give as much of yourself as you expect back from others.

The energy in your group must be in harmony with every participant. If something is not right within your group or if there is someone who is not participating then you should take the appropriate steps to deal with the situation. Energy should be everything to your group. If harmony is not there, then the group will very quickly break up by itself, this is why you should be very choosy about who gets to join your group and who doesn’t.

I wish you the best of luck with your master mind group. As promised, here is the PDF document containing 10 master mind guidelines and principles for your group to follow.
