Riches Do Not Respond To Wishes
Published in Chapter8: Persistence
Riches do not respond to wishes. They respond only to definite plans, backed by definite desires, through constant PERSISTENCE.

The basis of persistence is will power.

You have at your mercy a mind that will follow your orders. You should not mistake yourself as your mind, as you are far more than that. Any order that you give your mind can be achieved, yet the result will rely upon your ability to apply repetition and have a burning desire.

Desire and persistence when mixed together can produce a powerful force so potent that nothing can prevent your attainment of your goals.

Far too many men and women are eager to quit at the first sign of trouble and have no persistence or desire to overcome their hurdles. If these people had of just persisted for a little while longer then they would have seen that the fruits that they were looking for would have starred at them in the face.

Those few people who do have the burning desire to achieve greatness along with the persistence and decision that nothing will stop them in their calling are the big achievers of our time.

Do you think that Edison would have discovered that carbon is one of the best materials to use in the incandescent light bulb if he had of given up after testing the first material? No! Instead of being disheartened he tried hundreds of different materials in various shapes and sizes without any success what-so-ever. But he persisted on and with his desire he eventually stumbled across the winning formula.

Henry Ford insisted that the 6-cylinder engine could be produced despite being constantly told by his engineers that is was ‘impossible’. A few years later after persisting with his decision, his engineers finally made the breakthrough and created the 6-cylinder engine that was ‘impossible’ to build. Persistence pays off, big time!

Spasmodic, or occasional effort to apply the rules will be of no value to you. To get RESULTS, you must apply all of the rules until their application becomes a fixed habit with you. In no other way can you develop the necessary “money consciousness.”

A little effort here or there just isn’t enough to cut it. Once you’ve developed a BURNING DESIRE for anything at all, you must make the DECISION that you will do whatever it is that is necessary to bring about the physical manifestation. When you mix this potent formula with PERSISTENCE, then and only then will you have knocked down every brick wall that could possibly stand in your way.

Ask any great achiever how they got to where they are today. Most will tell you that they had a strong passion (DESIRE) to achieve what they’ve achieved. They will also go on to tell you that they would have done anything to achieve it (DECISION) and that they would work long hours until they achieved what they wanted (PERSISTENCE).

I’m a firm believer that to get what you what out of life, it doesn’t need to be a struggle. Working hard and working for long hours may sound unappealing, but let me remind you that when you’re working towards something that you are so passionate about, the reality of time will stop.

If you are truly working towards something that you have a burning desire to achieve then everything around the subject of it will feel like joy and fun. Work is completely the wrong word because it implies that it is hard. Sure enough – you will need to put the hours in, but those hours won’t be unenjoyable if you are truly in harmony with what you want.

Eight Factors of Persistence
Published in Chapter8: Persistence

Napoleon assembled a list of eight important factors that are common amongst men and women who have the quality, Persistence.

I list them below.

DEFINITENESS OF PURPOSE. Knowing what one wants is the first and, perhaps, the most important step toward the development of persistence. A strong motive forces one to surmount many difficulties.

DESIRE. It is comparatively easy to acquire and to maintain persistence in pursuing the object of intense desire.

SELF-RELIANCE. Belief in one’s ability to carry out a plan encourages one to follow the plan through with persistence. (Self-reliance can be developed through the principle described in the chapter on auto-suggestion).

DEFINITENESS OF PLANS. Organized plans, even though they may be weak and entirely impractical, encourage persistence.

ACCURATE KNOWLEDGE. Knowing that one’s plans are sound, based upon experience or observation, encourages persistence; “guessing” instead of “knowing” destroys persistence.

CO-OPERATION. Sympathy, understanding, and harmonious cooperation with others tend to develop persistence.

WILL-POWER. The habit of concentrating one’s thoughts upon the building of plans for the attainment of a definite purpose, leads to persistence.

HABIT. Persistence is the direct result of habit. The mind absorbs and becomes a part of the daily experiences upon which it feeds. Fear, the worst of all enemies, can be effectively cured by forced repetition of acts of courage. Everyone who has seen active service in war knows this.

When reviewing the list above it is good practice to ask yourself if you too hold these same qualities. Be as brutally honest with yourself as you can when doing this.

  • Do you hold all eight of these factors?
  • Are you persistent enough to follow through with your goals?
  • Is there anything you could do differently?

To help you answer the questions above and to also aid you in acquiring the quality, Persistence, I have put together a free worksheet that you can download below. This worksheet contains important questions for you to ask yourself so that you too can become persistent in whatever you’re working towards.

How To Develop Persistence
Published in Chapter8: Persistence

As an Internet Marketer, I’ve seen countless people set themselves challenges and fail to meet their lofty goals. But why do they fail?

  • Is it the plan that is at fault?
  • Is it the lack mindset they hold?
  • Is it their lack of persistence?

Since acquiring a habit of persistence is connected with the mindset, I firmly believe that acquiring the correct mindset is crucial before taking on any goals. If you get your mindset right first then the correct plan and the right people will be drawn to you through the utilization of the Law of Attraction.

This explains why one person can disclose their plans that created them great fortunes and yet another person attempts to follow the plans and fails. The mindset of the two individuals was different.

The truth is that you don’t need a detailed plan with every step already worked out for you. You do need a good idea of where you want to be and how you intend on getting there, but the smaller details of these plans will fall into place once you’ve practiced a success mindset.

Persistence is just one of the habits you MUST have in order to acquire a success mindset.

Napoleon revealed four steps which are essential to developing a habit of persistence:

There are four simple steps which lead to the habit of PERSISTENCE. They call for no great amount of intelligence, no particular amount of education, and but little time or effort. The necessary steps are:

1. A DEFINITE PURPOSE BACKED BY BURNING DESIRE FOR ITS FULFILLMENT.

2. A DEFINITE PLAN, EXPRESSED IN CONTINUOUS ACTION.

3. A MIND CLOSED TIGHTLY AGAINST ALL NEGATIVE AND DISCOURAGING INFLUENCES, including negative suggestions of relatives, friends and acquaintances.

4. A FRIENDLY ALLIANCE WITH ONE OR MORE PERSONS WHO WILL ENCOURAGE ONE TO FOLLOW THROUGH WITH BOTH PLAN AND PURPOSE.

Let’s have a look at each of these four statements…

1. A DEFINITE PURPOSE BACKED BY BURNING DESIRE FOR ITS FULFILLMENT. As already discussed in Chapter1: Desire, acquiring a Burning Desire for your intended outcome is the first step towards acquiring riches of any kind. Without such a passionate desire, you will be easily knocked off of your horse at the first hurdle.

2. A DEFINITE PLAN, EXPRESSED IN CONTINUOUS ACTION. Although your definite plan of action will become attracted to you by creating a burning desire to achieve your goal, you do need a solid plan to begin continuous action. This plan should be decided upon with the aid of your mastermind group. Just remember, reach your decisions promptly but change those decisions slowly (if at all).

3. A MIND CLOSED TIGHTLY AGAINST ALL NEGATIVE AND DISCOURAGING INFLUENCES. From a Law of Attraction perspective, if you no longer focus on the negative aspect of a family member or friend, then that part of their personality CANNOT be shown to you. Even if that person had nine personality traits you disliked about them, but had one personality trait that you did enjoy – if you could hold your attention on that one good aspect of that person and make that your dominant vibration around the person then by the Law of Attraction you would only be eligible to be around that person when they are demonstrating that one good aspect of their personality.

4. A FRIENDLY ALLIANCE WITH ONE OR MORE PERSONS WHO WILL ENCOURAGE ONE TO FOLLOW THROUGH WITH BOTH PLAN AND PURPOSE. Having someone to provide encouragement and hold you accountable to complete regular tasks is vital to your success. You can find this person in your mastermind group. Alternatively you should consider seeking a business coach to help you remain accountable and provide the necessary knowledge that can help you avoid costly mistakes that you may have made if you were going it alone.

Take action today and begin acquiring the mindset of persistence to ensure you succeed in your chosen calling!
