The Door To The Temple Of Wisdom
Published in Chapter13: The Sixth Sense
After you have mastered the principles described in this book, you will be prepared to accept as truth a statement which may, otherwise, be incredible to you, namely:Through the aid of the sixth sense, you will be warned of impending dangers in time to avoid them, and notified of opportunities in time to embrace them. There comes to your aid, and to do your bidding, with the development of the sixth sense, a “guardian angel” who will open to you at all times the door to the Temple of Wisdom.

The first time I came across this chapter on The Sixth Sense, I didn’t fully understand what I was reading. My beliefs had already been shattered though so I didn’t dismiss it. Instead, like every process in Think and Grow Rich, I tried it.

I’ll share with you what my experiences were with this in my next blog post.

But for now, let’s briefly look over what Napoleon is suggesting.

Simply put, Napoleon would form an imaginary meeting in his mind and would imagine a meeting was taking place. He was the meetings organizer and everyone in this meeting was chosen because they had knowledge he wished to accumulate.

His meeting would consist of;
Himself (Napoleon Hill)
Ralph Waldo Emerson
Thomas Paine
Thomas Edison
Charles Darwin
Abraham Lincoln
Luther Burbank
Henry Ford
Andrew Carnegie

He would hold this meeting every day in his imagination and invited the same members.

What he discovered was that these so called imaginary meetings began not being so imaginary. He found that their characters were being developed in every meeting. Surprisingly, after doing his research on these men’s lives, he discovered that the characters in his mind were extremely similar to the ones in his imaginary meetings.

Here’s an excerpt of one of the conversations Napoleon experienced…

One evening Edison arrived ahead of all the others. He walked over and seated himself at my left, where Emerson was accustomed to sit, and said, “You are destined to witness the discovery of the secret of life. When the time comes, you will observe that life consists of great swarms of energy, or entities, each as intelligent as human beings think themselves to be. These units of life group together like hives of bees, and remain together until they disintegrate, through lack of harmony.

These units have differences of opinion, the same as human beings, and often fight among themselves. These meetings which you are conducting will be very helpful to you. They will bring to your rescue some of the same units of life which served the members of your Cabinet, during their lives. These units are eternal. THEY NEVER DIE! Your own thoughts and DESIRES serve as the magnet which attracts units of life, from the great ocean of life out there. Only the friendly units are attracted–the ones which harmonize with the nature of your DESIRES.”

I believe these are much more than imaginary encounters.
What do you think?

My Personal Experience With The Sixth Sense
Published in Chapter13: The Sixth Sense

In my last post on the final chapter of Think and Grow Rich, The Sixth Sense, I mentioned that I would share my own experiences of what happened when I’ve tried creating an imaginary meeting.

First of all, I have only practiced this whilst in meditation. I find it much easier to control my thoughts and place my attention on what I choose when I am meditation, so I’ve always chosen to hold a meeting when meditating.

The first thing I will do is form the room in my minds eye. Personally I have created a long table instead of a round table. The table is long enough to fit 4 people on either side and one person at the top and one person at the bottom.

I am sat at the top of the table and I split both sides into different categories. The left side of my table is for business related people. The right side is for friends and family.

Directly opposite me is someone with no face, I label him “X”. He has the same body as me, yet no face. I’ll get more to this “character” in a moment.

Just like if you were to order your friends in an order of importance to you, I have my closest friends and family sat closest to me, whereas the least closest are sat further away. This is the same with the business people also.

I use the meeting as a way to get answers and to ask advice. If I am faced with a problem that I feel needs working out, then instead of worrying about it, I take the question to my meeting table and ask whomever I wish to ask for the solution.

Sometimes I will mix up who gets invited to the table. There are times when a certain person’s opinion won’t be required and so they are not invited to join me. This is often the case If I have a personal problem that is not business related, then the business people have no place in the meeting.

Here’s an example of how it will go for me…

I’ll create the table and everyone will sit down. I then say hello to everyone and they will reply with whatever salutation they choose. I give them my thanks for being here with me and then proceed to explain why we are here and what problem I am presently facing.

Once I have given all of the relevant information, I will then choose who to speak.

Like Napoleon Hill, the answers I get are extremely accurate to that person’s character. Sometimes I am totally surprised at what they say and other times I feel that is exactly what they would say. The times when I’m most surprised is when I hear answers that come from their mouth yet the answer was not within my conscious mind, therefore eliminating any doubt whether this is a real meeting or not.

I’ve invited lots of people to my meetings before, including Napoleon Hill. Sometimes I will invite Abraham Hicks (Esther Hicks) to come along as I respect their advice greatly, other times I will invite Internet business people like Mike Filsaime, Frank Kern and John Reese. These are characters that I know of and admire.

Once I’ve received the answers and heard what they’ve got to say. At the very end I will consult “X”. Now remember from earlier… X has no face and this is where things can get a little weird.

X has the final say in the matter. After hearing everything that has been said, X will draw the conclusion on what is the appropriate action, if any.

I believe that X is a part of me. He is the spirit entity of me and to be honest with you, I’m not sure how I created X. One day X was there and has been forever more. I do feel a deep connection to X and he is most certainly a part of me, of that I am certain.

About this no face business, I don’t know. Maybe it means it’s the ego-less me who is making the decision which is why I see him without a face. I’m not sure.

All I do know is that these imaginary meetings have helped me IMMENSELY in the past and have helped me to make excellent decisions both in my professional and personal life.

Whether they are real or imaginary, that’s for you to decide. I believe that the entities in the meeting and their responses are in fact genuine. I believe that energy is never destroyed and therefore their characters and energies can still be called upon by focusing your attention upon it.

It’s an amazing experience and its not as weird as you may think it will be.
