Feelings of Resentment

23rd July 2008

When I was first starting up my own Internet business, I would often come across posts in Internet marketing forums about how well people were doing.

It is common to see people posting about their “first $100 day” and “first $2,000 month” etc.

At the time I was reading these posts, I could feel a lot of resentment within me. I was feeling uncomfortable because they were achieving something I wanted.

Sometimes I would post up short notes like “Congratulations… keep up the great work!” when inside I actually felt like saying “Who cares!! Big WooptyDoo!”

Even after I had achieved my own first $100 day, when I read posts of other people doing it, I would still feel the same resentment and jealousy.

The truth of the matter is that if you’re feeling resentment, or feeling miserable about someone else’s success that you would like to have yourself, then you’re not a vibrational match to your desire and therefore you’re moving further away from achieving it.

I spend very little time on forums these days, however yesterday when I had some spare time to myself, I was browsing one of the marketing forums and ran into a “first $100 day” post. What I noticed was completely different to my usual offering… instead of feeling resentment for their achievement, I was genuinely happy for them that they are on their way to succeeding in their goals.

I’ve noticed this happening in other areas too and not just money related. I see it as a sign that I’ve shifted and my mentality has changed.

Being genuinely happy for someone cannot be faked. You cannot feel miserable about someone’s achievement, and then offer some positive words like “Congratulations!” and really mean it. Your vibration never lies - your vibration is what tells the truth about how you feel, even if your words don’t.

This change in attitude hasn’t been quick, but it can be done with just a little effort. Here’s some suggestions as to why I think I’ve managed to change from a lack mindset to one of abundance…

Beliefs - A belief is just a chronic thought that you’ve been thinking over and over. Changing your beliefs is as easy as changing your thoughts. Spending time being around successful people has helped me to change my own thoughts on what I think is possible and has helped me shift from a lack mindset into a positive one.

Raised Vibration - As I unveil in my Manifest a Miracle system, I have a daily routine to help me stay in a positive frame of mind which makes me feel good. When I feel good, my vibration is raised and therefore I attract more of the good stuff that I want in life.

Attention To What I Want - Instead of pushing against things that I don’t want, I allow them to be and turn my attention to what I do want to experience in life. This always reaps me positive results and yields me more of what I want. I no longer read newspapers or watch the news on television. These two acts have helped me massively to experience more abundance.

I encourage you to be honest with yourself and observe your feelings within yourself when someone achieves something you want.

How do you feel when a friend of family member…

  • Gets a better job or promotion?
  • Makes more money than you?
  • Loses 10 pounds of weight?
  • Achieves a long-term goal?

You can practice being honest with yourself right now by observing how you feel when you read about someone else’s success. A good friend of mine, Aaron Potts from Today is that Day, made a post about one of his successes with moving next to the beach to start up his own health business.

His story is wonderful and he also shares a lot of great information about how he achieved it. You can read his story by clicking here.

Head over there and observe your reaction when you read about his success. Are you genuinely happy for him, or is there something in the back of your mind feeling resentment? Know that if resentment does come up, then you’re moving further away from achieving your goals.

I can honestly say that I am truly happy for Aaron and wish him all of the very best with his new adventure in Florida!

My Business Beliefs

30th June 2008

The last few days I’ve been spending a lot of time creating my vision for my business and have been having a lot of fun with it too.

Just recently I was asking myself questions about my beliefs around business. The results shocked me because I initially thought that I had good beliefs around business, but after 5 minutes of thinking about it, I realized that all of my beliefs around business weren’t of a positive nature at all!

Here’s my list of beliefs about business…

  • I believe business is difficult
  • I believe business is dog-eat-dog
  • I believe successful businesses have to be ruthless
  • I believe it takes time to make lots of profit
  • I believe you need time and money to make big $
  • I believe business shouldn’t be fun
  • I believe business requires lots of hard work and effort
  • I believe business is not spiritual
  • I believe business does no good for the world

Can you see the problem here?

Although I could understand that I would have some negative beliefs about business, what really stunned me was the fact that I didn’t come out with anything positive what-so-ever. I consider everything on that list to be a negative belief and something that doesn’t serve me.

Here’s where some of these beliefs have come from; TV shows, Dad, spiritual teachers, online forums & previous corporate experience.

Thank goodness I’ve got Aine’s Belief Buster Kit to help me overcome some of these!

The best way I’ve found to uncover what your beliefs about anything is to set a timer at 3 minutes and ask yourself the question “What are my beliefs about… ?”. And then fill in the blank.

Personally, I find that if you sit down for half and hour and really ponder all of the beliefs you have, you’ll find that your mind wanders between all sorts of things and actually prevents you from getting to the root cause.

Instead, answer the question quickly! That way, you won’t give your mind a chance to think about anything else.

*** Update ***

After writing this blog post, I listened to an autobiography by Duncan Bannatyne where he shared his story about how he decided to become a millionaire. Yes… he just decided it was so, and now he’s worth millions and millions of £’s.

Listening to his autobiography has really helped me with a couple of my own beliefs. I feel like I’ve clobbered a couple of them. I no longer feel that business is ruthless, difficult or shouldn’t be fun. If you share any of my beliefs above, I’d highly recommend you dive into a couple of autobiographies from self-made millionaires to help change your beliefs.

Pushing Against - Creates More Of

16th June 2008

To reiterate a lesson from “The Secret”, the more you push against something unwanted, the more of it you will attract into your life.

Whatever you give your attention to, you attract more of.

Pushing against something unwanted, creates more of.

As was mentioned in “The Secret”, Mother Teresa understood this principle. She was quoted saying…

“I was once asked why I don’t participate in anti-war demonstrations. I said that I will never do that, but as soon as you have a pro-peace rally, I’ll be there.”

A few weeks ago, I discovered a wonderful YouTube video demonstrating this point perfectly. Click here to see that video.

It isn’t a hard concept to grasp, yet, I still see “spiritually enlightened” folks giving their attention to what they don’t want. A year ago, a young British girl, Madeleine McCann, went missing whilst on a holiday in Portugal.

I must have received about 5 non-personal emails from people forwarding me a message from the family asking to help find young Madeleine.

But the problem with these types of messages is that they are pushing against something they did not want. They didn’t want Madeleine to be missing, and because they were so fearful, they were sending messages left right and center.

The more publicity the situation got, the more negative energy was being created around this subject.

Can negative energy attract what you want? No.

Feeling negative and feeling fearful only attracts more situations that are in vibrational harmony with what you’re feeling. The fact that this missing girl situation got so much publicity meant that the collective consciousness was growing with more and more fear and worry.

As more and more people tuned into the news and forwarded emails trying to find her, the more unwanted feelings and unwanted energy was created.

A year later… Madeleine has not been found. It’s a perfect vibrational match.

So, what could help this situation? I believe that if you take your attention away from feeling sad about a missing girl, and focus on anything that makes you feel good, or focus on how happy the family will be when they are reunited, that will greatly shift your own personal energy and contribute some positive energy to mass-consciousness.

If there is to be peace in the world,
There must be peace in the nations.
If there is to be peace in the nations,
There must be peace in the cities.
If there is to be peace in the cities,
There must be peace between neighbors.
If there is to be peace between neighbors,
There must be peace in the home.
If there is to be peace in the home,
There must be peace in the heart.

Can Bad Be Good?

22nd March 2008

Can you experience something that is good without first knowing what is bad?

Clarity is what a bad perceived situation gives you. Without having the knowledge that something is unwanted you could never know what you did want.

Think about this for a moment… if everything in the world was the color blue, would you know what others colors are? Would the word ‘blue’ exist?

When you observe something unwanted it is giving you the clarity to know what you do want. Bad can be considered good but only to the ego.

Your inner-being doesn’t recognize good and bad, it only recognizes “what is” and it perceives a problem as a situation. Nothing more and nothing less. When something good happens, its just a situation. When something bad happens, its just a situation.

Dealing with a situation instead of a crisis is far easier and much more sane.

Getting to a point where you perceive everything as “what is” isn’t difficult, but it will require repetitive effort. By giving your attention to this moment, now, you will be moving towards a different way of perceiving life events.

The ego loves to feed on your trauma and pain, therefore when you’re not grounded in this moment, right now, the ego has power to emerge whenever it wants and will feed by reacting to situations.

Don’t give away your power. Retain it for yourself. Become grounded by giving your undivided attention to whatever life will bring you. You’ll soon see that instead of pushing against life, it will begin to work with you. Allow whatever life experiences to come and embrace them, no matter what they may be.

How To Program Empowering Beliefs

26th February 2008

A friend of mine, Aine Belton, recently sent me a review copy of her brand new product The Belief Buster Kit. As you probably know, I don’t often do many reviews for other spiritual mentors, but this one was definitely worth my time.

The Belief Buster Kit by Aine Belton is a comprehensive package that’s designed to take you through all of the necessary steps to reprogram old beliefs and form new more empowering ones.

“Beliefs are the determinant of what one experiences. There are no external causes. – David Hawkins”

I’m a firm believer that whatever we believe becomes our reality. This can be clearly seen with those who’ve lived more extravagant and expensive lifestyles then lost all of their money and then have regained their wealthy lifestyles once more. It was their beliefs that they could live that wealthy lifestyle that enabled them to bounce back again.

It is ones beliefs that play the important role between daydreaming and actually experiencing it. I’m sure you’ve dreamt about owning your dream car or dream relationship before, but it didn’t show up in your life experience. Could it be that you just didn’t believe it was possible? It’s more than likely!

Aine’s Belief Buster Kit consists of a 102 page workbook and a 20-minute meditation. Even without the meditation, there’s more than enough information and methods to get you started reprogramming new and more empowering beliefs. Here’s a quick look at what the workbook offers:

Part 1 explores what beliefs are, how they are formed, and a consciousness recipe for the Belief Busting Process

Part 2 looks at how to identify the limiting beliefs that are holding you back in your life, and offers 11 specific exercises for doing so.

Part 3 looks at how you can harness your blockages to identify limiting beliefs and patterns and turn enemies into allies.

Part 4 shows how to create and install new empowering beliefs that are aligned to your desires (including the Belief Buster Meditation)

Part 5 offers 9 techniques for strengthening your new beliefs in everyday life including a Daily Belief Program.

Part 6 gives life-changing consciousness raising tips for creating a paradigm shift in your life.

Part 7 explores spiritual connection: you and your higher self, unlocking the treasure volt within you and the grace of co-creation.

I think my favorite part of the Belief Buster Kit is in fact the 20-minute meditation. Aine has produced a very relaxing and calming meditation that guides you into your enchanted chamber of your subconscious mind. Aine’s voice is very peaceful and the background music is very hypnotic, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it just as much as I have. This guided meditation is where you can get to work and “take out trash” so to speak and really begin forming new and more empowering beliefs about anything you desire!

It’s worth mentioning here that a belief is just a thought that you keep thinking over and over, and so you shouldn’t become deluded into thinking that you can use a guided meditation once and see amazing results.

I personally feel that using the guided meditation will give you a much greater chance of actually changing those pesky unwanted beliefs but I also feel you’ll need to repeat the meditation on a daily basis for it to have a real impact. For how long should you use it? Until you notice change! In most cases I’ve found that repeating affirmations takes up to 45 days until any tangible results can be seen… with a meditation and delving into the subconscious mind, it will probably be quicker – but don’t hold me to it!

In the meditation, Aine makes several attempts to guide you into feeling your new beliefs and the feelings associated with them. This is really important and since it’s your feelings that play a significant role in what you attract, it’s important to actually do this. Otherwise I doubt you’d see any results.

Overall, I think it’s a wonderful package and I feel this product is going to help thousands of people shift their unwanted beliefs. Here’s the testimonial I’ve left for Aine…

The Belief Buster Kit is full of inspiring material. It’s uplifting, energizing and it’s obvious you have a full understanding of this subject and changing beliefs.

The ideas and methods in which one can change beliefs are certainly new to me and I’ve already begun building solid new ones based upon abundance which I’m really excited about!

Thank you so much for putting together this workbook and meditation! I’m really loving going into my enchanted chamber of my subconscious to reprogram myself every day.

I’m sure this program will help so many people to experience more of what they want.

So, if you’re interested in changing your beliefs in any area of your life (money, work, relationships) then I’d highly recommend Aine’s Belief Buster Kit. With over 20 exercises and techniques to identify and clear limiting beliefs I feel there are really no excuses to hang on to any more!

Here’s what one of Aine’s readers had to say after she went through and used the kit…

It’s amazing, I changed ONE belief around money, installing the new one “money loves me” and that very DAY I discovered I had over £2,000 more in my account than I was aware of (still can’t figure out quite how but I’m accepting of it!) plus received well over £2,500 in checks! That’s nearly £5,000 the day I changed my belief, and it’s just the beginning!

I feel like I have a whole new relationship with money and it feels soooo goood! Life sure is reflecting it amazingly too!! :-)

I can’t thank you enough!

Rehashed Spiritual Wisdom

24th February 2008

Have you heard of the term… rehashed information?

Today I wanted to spend just a moment to discuss this term because I see far too many people brandishing that phrase without really giving it any thought.

When someone uses the term rehashed information what they’re saying is… “yeah, okay, I’ve heard it all before but this is just presented in a different way”. It’s usually said in a negative vibration when someone is fed up of hearing the same message over and over again.

If it were not for rehashed information, I doubt very much that you would understand what you do understand today. Your spiritual life, social life, working life … it’s all just rehashed information that you’ve picked up from somewhere.

A lot of people involved in spiritual growth may say that Bob Proctor is a leading edge spiritual guru who teaches timeless principles based around the Law of Attraction. Did Bob Proctor not learn it from Earl Nightingale and Think & Grow Rich? Is he not sharing rehashed information?

Think for a moment about all of the other teachers in “The Secret”. Are they not just teaching rehashed information that is presented in a different way to help you “get it”?

What about a spiritual teacher that you really admire? Think about them for a moment and ask yourself, are they not rehashing timeless wisdom that has been available to us for years?

I feel that the only un-hashed information that now comes to this planet is from people who can ‘channel’ the source energy and allow it to speak through them. Take Abraham-Hicks for example… they were the first to coin the phrase ‘Law of Attraction’ and now it’s been picked up by many spiritual guru’s who use it all day and every day in their own teachings (myself included).

What about Eckhart Tolle? Is he not channeling source energy with his work and presenting so called “new” information? Or is it rehashed because the Buddha has said it all before?

How about Neale Donald Walsch? When he wrote the Conversations with God books, was that not new information? Or was it re-hashed?

The truth of the matter is that rehashed information is everywhere. And I’m grateful that it is.

You’ll find yourself drawn to many different spiritual teachers as you develop yourself further and the ones you’re drawn to will be a perfect match for you in your circumstance now.

It’s always a beautiful match and an exhilarating experience when you resonate with a teacher and can quite literally feel their information as truth. If it were not for the wide buffet of spiritual teachers available, then I don’t feel that not as many people would be able to fully grasp the spiritual teachings available to us today. And for that reason alone, rehashed information is a blessing.

The next time you come across yet another piece of rehashed information, consider asking yourself the following questions…

Am I seeking something that I feel I don’t have already?
What am I seeking?
Why do I keep seeing the same message over and over again?
Is there a lesson here for me?
Why am I looking for something ‘new’?

3 Tips To Install New Beliefs

12th February 2008

“Whether you think you can or can’t, you’re right.” – Henry Ford

Some say that whatever you believe to be true is making up your entire experience here on earth. Whether the people who teach this are right or wrong, my own understandings of beliefs are thus;

A belief is just a thought you keep thinking.

Simple. A belief is nothing more than a thought that you’ve given a lot of attention. It’s easy to create a belief that you must work hard in order to earn money, since that’s what you see with your eyes and experience for yourself.

Your beliefs can be created in two ways… the first being with your 5 senses and the second being with the power of your mind. There are no other ways in which you can form a belief, you either experience it or you utilize your mind to make it true.

So, if you want to install some new beliefs that aren’t “true” to your experience, then you must use the power of your mind to create them. There’s many ways in which you can do this, but here’s a couple for you to start off with.

Think trigger – If a belief is just a thought you keep thinking over and over again, then it should be obvious to you that in order to change it, you must think the new belief over and over again. To begin forming your new beliefs, set yourself some trigger words or objects that you will use to remind you of your new beliefs.

For example: If you want your new belief to be “I have lots of money” then you could set yourself a trigger that whenever you see money in any shape or form you will think about your new belief. This would be a great trigger if you’re a cashier and handle money all day long.

If you don’t see much money in your day to day experience then pick something different that you do see a lot in your experience. Maybe every time you see a flower you can begin thinking about your new belief.

Visualization – This probably doesn’t come as a surprise to you, but if you cannot experience your new belief by using your physical senses then we’re going to have to use some other method to install the new belief. Using visualization is a brilliant way in which you can install your new beliefs as you’re creating the 5 senses in your minds eye.

If you were to give yourself just 10-20 minuets every single day visualizing what you wanted to experience in reality, I personally feel that this alone would bring about manifestation and change your beliefs. The problem is that it’s so simple that most will never do it… these people are stuck with the belief that if it’s easy it probably won’t work.

The only thing you have to lose is your time, so give it a go. My first ever manifestations came about by simply visualizing what I wanted for about 20 minutes a day. It wasn’t long before I had manifested a new relationship and a brand new source of income. Just make sure you don’t ask “where’s my stuff” and instead have fun feeling the feelings of your visualizations.

Experience the stillness within – This moment right now is all you have. The past and the future do not exist, only now exists. By giving your attention to this now moment, you will be eliminating the need for beliefs to exist. Remember, a belief is just a thought that you keep thinking. If you keep giving your attention to the past or the future then you will keep forming beliefs and keep re-enforcing beliefs.

If you remove the need to think about the past and future then you will stop forming beliefs. It’s easier than you think to slip into this present moment and give it your full attention. Anyone can do it and at any time. You just need to focus on something and give it your undying attention. Try focusing on your breathing for just a couple of minutes… thoughts may come and go, but do not encourage them by giving them your attention, give this moment your attention. Feel your breathing. Feel the moment.
