Is being selfish about how you feel a bad thing?
Is being ignorant of things going on in the world a bad thing?
In my opinion, being blissfully ignorant and unaware of some so called “dangers” on this planet is quite beautiful and empowering.
Every single one of us has free will. We get to decide what to give our attention to. Just because someone else has decided that it’s a bad thing, it doesn’t mean you have to give it your attention as well.
Just because a certain disease, bad habit or traumatic event is going on, it doesn’t mean that you need to give it your attention. You get to choose whether you want to or not.
How you feel right now is the only thing you should be giving your attention. How you feel in this moment, and this moment and this moment… That’s what really matters.
Not so long ago, my Dad made a comment about all of the eggs I eat. I absolutely love boiled eggs in the mornings and I always find lot’s of fun things to cook up with eggs almost everyday too.
His comment was something about me probably having a high cholesterol level because of all the eggs I eat.
I could have listened to what he was saying.
I could have given it my attention and felt fearful about all the eggs I eat.
I could research and lookup cholesterol problems on the Internet.
I could have let his comments affect me.
But instead of doing any of that, I chose not to give it my attention and I remained blissfully ignorant.
Here’s my Paris Hilton moment… I don’t even know what cholesterol levels are!
And actually… I couldn’t care less about them. I’m enjoying my life and I’m enjoying my eggs
If there comes a time when I need to know what cholesterol levels are, then that will be that. But right now, I love remaining blissfully ignorant of all the diseases, new outbreaks and health problems that are going around.
I don’t want them and I don’t give them a second of my attention.
Since discovering the Law of Attraction and understanding that what I give my attention to affects my feelings which affects my vibration which affects what I manifest, I no longer read the newspapers, nor do I watch the news on TV.
Occasionally I do like to watch some TV and if the news happens to come on when I’m lined up to watch a program then I’ve actually found myself muting the television and placing something in front of my eyes so that I won’t allow myself to absorb any of it.
Personally, I feel that is the level of selfishness you need to acquire. You need to be so selfish that you won’t allow anyone else to poison your mind with unwanted feelings.
