Hi Gary,

I just found your site by accident, and I really enjoyed your article. It seems so self-evident, but if you focus on negative things, how can you be surprised when negative things happen to you? What is surprising though, is that there are a lot of people who like to be miserable. If they have nothing to be unhappy about, they will actively seek out something to be bad about. I don't fully understand this myself, but it seems to be true. Thanks for the post.

Currently at my blog, I'm reading a book called "The Power of Concentration". It is about learning how to

focus your mind so that you can achieve the things you want. If this interests you, feel free to check out
my blog at DavidNordmark.com for my chapter
summaries, as well to download this timeless classic for free.

A wonderful article, Gary. Always good to remind us on the current and the future and let the past be what it is, "gone forever."

Thank you! :-)

Thank you everyone for your comments and feedback.

In response to Donna's comment about politics... I share the same opinion as you Donna and do not vote. I never have voted and don't think I ever will.

In my limited experience I've never seen a politician understand that pushing against something unwanted only creates more of it. And that one reason alone is enough for me not to vote.

I remember seeing a video of Abraham Hicks when a politicians wife was called to the hot seat... (I think it was on a cruise video) ...Abraham did give some good reasonings why politics do not work and had some fun with the wife too.

As always, do what feels right for you and don't follow what other people tell you. That's how you will move towards something pleasing.

Great insight.

Here's one from Abraham-Hicks:

"Wellness that is being allowed, or the wellness that is being denied,
is all about the mindset, the mood, the attitude, the practiced thoughts.
There is not one exception, in any human or beast; because, you can patch
them up again and again, and they will just find another way of reverting
back to the natural rhythm of their mind. Treating the body really is about
treating the mind. It is all psychosomatic. Every bit of it, no exceptions."

I think that if you are healthy (and I hope you are), it isn't a problem how many eggs you eat, if you don't make an anxiety question by this. If yes, your subconscious "know" it, your hided feelings (fear) will added, and these can modify your metabolism. About how to collaborate with your subconscious, I don't tell you because you are the Master! Make up for the eggs with vegetable and physical training and enjoy your dinner, WITHOUT care!

from another-no TV here either as it's so negative and bloody these days. Yes, does happen but not at my expense of going into all that negative. I am so grateful to live in a country that allows me to use my free-will and have the choice to be, do and have whatever I choose. Staying in that "good feeling" space is difficult for me and I am constantly working on being there. Learning to stay away from negative thinkers and doers. Being a person with Love and connecting with Divine Love, that's my goal

Let me just clarify something: I know John Lennon was not a President, but I wanted to say that if you can choose one John Lennon as a President that would be great.

Brain going faster than the fingers...

Gary,

I think you may be interested in knowing that my grandfather worked for some time picking up eggs from 2,000 hens. His food at that moment was based on eggs, he ate up to 5 eggs a day! Then his life changed but he still ate lots of eggs. 3 eggs in a meal was very common for him.
He died at the age of ninety something of lung cancer (he also smoked like a chimeney).

His cholesterol levels were surprisingly normal and doctors said that was probably caused to his drinking daily lots of natural orange juice.

Right now I believe he just didn't need and he wasn't afraid of cholesterol in his life and therefore he never attracted that to himself.

On the issue of the news, I couldn't agree more. I do exactly the same. I don't watch or read news since I stopped working in the news search. I sometimes wonder if I'll get to know of any major important changes, but I guess I will if I need to know it. I will love to learn that schools have included meditation in their official syllabus or that jobs don't have a set timetable anymore, that people are free to work as much as they want to, every day.

Brooke,

Can I comment your comment?

I think voting is an opportunity to decide guidelines that you cannot let go. Our individual lives are infuenced by the government, either we like it or not. And sometimes, depending where you live..., the world's life and death is also influenced by the Presidents chosen by democracy. Having THAT opportunity to choose whether you want another Bush or another Thatcher or another Ghandi or another John Lennon is something really big. I don't think you have to submerge yourself into politics, but voting every 4 or 5 years is not such a big effort and you certainly can make a change.

All the best: good health, freedom and well-being to all of you.

I think that I'd rather be aware of the problem. To use your eggs "eggsample" (sorry, couldn't resist), if eggs do in fact have high cholesterol, I'd like to know about that. Whether or not I allow that to eat how many eggs I eat is another matter entirely. But I'd rather know that my lifestyle is going to give me a heart attack at some point, so I can make plans for that.

Otherwise, sooner or later, that ignorance will creep up and bite me on the bum, and then I'll be wishing I'd paid attention.

I wouldn't sit down to my boiled egg every morning think "OMG this is going to kill me!!!". I'd eat it and enjoy it.

To put it another way, if my car was about to drive off a cliff, I'd want to be aware of that, so I could turn the wheel and continue driving, thereby saving my life. I wouldn't want to ignore the fact that I would be dead in 10 seconds if I didn't do something as simple as turning a steering wheel. If it's a choice between a few seconds panic while I think through turning the car away from the cliff edge, and a happily ignorant fiery death, Then I think I'll take what's underneath shell number one.

Just my 2 cents. :)

LOVE this post...I shared it with a friend, too. This is a very empowering thing, but also something that many people do not understand. Many people feel that I am being rude or uncaring...but really, I feel I am being as caring as I could possibly be! I wonder, too, if you do not vote in elections...my thoughts on that have changed since finding LOA and Abraham...I no longer feel the need to vote. Any thoughts on that topic?
